iPhone XR: Probably Apple's Best Budget Phone Yet

It's got a beautiful design, the same A12 bionic processor as the XS and SX Max, the same wide angle camera as in the XS and SX Max, comes in 6 colors (white, black, blue, coral, red and yellow) or finishes and it's priced at $749.

Still has that notch, which is a pity but hey the specs are great, the camera and processor are the same as in the high end model which is a huge step forward. This is Apple's response to all the new Android budget smartphone which are cornering the market offering top level specifications between $300-$500 like the Pocophone F1 and the OnePlus 6.

The $749 starting price tag is part of Apple's strategy to penetrate more of the developing markets but I think it's a great price in any country if you're on a budget.Compared to the other phones this is cheaper but compared to the smartphone market in general, this is far from cheap.

iPhone XR specs:

No headphone jack, no surprise there.

It maintains the lightning port, dual sim support, fast charge capable

Display

6.1”Liquid Retina LCD display

It's not going to be the sharpest screen out there, you can't watch 1080p videos on this screen, slightly thicker bezels than the other models

Camera

12 megapixel, optical image stabilization, f/1.8 single rear wide angle camera same as in the iPhone XS and SX Max, it can now generate the bokeh/ blur effect and you can adjust the bokeh/ blur after taking the photo.

4k video up to 60 fps.

Battery

Lasts up to 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 8 Plus

Also IP 67 rated.

Capacity

Starts at 64BG for the base model and goes up 256BG

Conclusion:

It's not going to be worth buying the iPhone XR if you currently have and iPhone X or an iPhone 8 but lower than that and this is will be a great buy especially in a few months around holidays/ Christmas time.

The colors are fun the specs and camera are great and the price is right... for an Apple phone that is. If you ask me, Android will still be king when it comes to performance per dollar spent but that Apple iPhone design and interface cannot be denied.

This is probably going to be their best selling model world wide.
