Is This the Cheapest Medium Format Camera? Fujifilm GFX 50R Leaks

If you are looking for the cheapest digital medium format camera out there, you're in luck.

Recent leaks started the rumor that the newest upcoming Fujifilm GFX 50R medium format camera will cost around $4,500 (according to Fuji Rumors) or $3,600 according to Photo Rumors.

Either price would make the GFX 50R the cheapest medium format camera on the market.

Other rumored feats and specifications include but are not limited to a tilting screen, dual SD card slots, lack of display on the top plate, and a joystick.

This is an excellent business strategy from Fujifilm as they will corner the market on the medium format cameras and will attract a lot of customers to upgrade from full frame to medium format for a decent amount of money.

Professionals doing portrait and landscape photography will jump at the opportunity to use a medium format camera and given the price range, a lot of enthusiast will more that happily want to start playing with that huge sensor.

Due to the great and beautiful camera design, color science and sharp lenses, a lot of people would have wanted Fujifilm to create and sell a full frame (35mm) camera however Fujifilm seems to be 2 steps ahead on this one as they will crush the competition not only the full frame side but also for medium format cameras with this rumored low price point.

According to the rumors, Fujifilm will be officially announcing the GFX 50R on September 25th.
